AICWA member

The Australian Institute of Conveyancers WA Division Inc (AICWA) is the peak industry body representing settlement agents in Western Australia.

The role of the AICWA is to promote the interests of settlement agents within the Western Australian government and other private organisations involved in the real estate profession. The AICWA is run by an elected council of AICWA members, who oversee the operations of the AICWA office.

To further the education and experience of AICWA members, the AICWA provides training and educational opportunities, distributes information by email, publishes a magazine twice yearly, and provides a roster of councillors who will assist members with queries. The AICWA is part of the National Australian Institute of Conveyancers and works with the other divisions on matters that effect conveyancing at the national level.

All members have the support and backing of the only professional body representing the Conveyancing Profession in WA, the Australian Institute of Conveyancers WA Division (AICWA). The AICWA in representing Settlement Agents (Conveyancers), is focused solely on Conveyancing and as a member, they are provided with up to date information and the support needed to act competently and professionally in Conveyancing. A CPC is a ‘Certified Practising Conveyancer’.  AICWA have initiated a programme to differentiate between those providing the highest level of service and knowledge.  To become a CPC, a Settlement Agent (Conveyancer) must have completed the educational and practical training requirements to hold certification and must also be a member of the AICWA. To maintain certification they must also complete the annual continuing education requirements.

A CPC must also abide by a strict set of rules designed to ensure the highest levels of professional and ethical Conveyancing standards.
